I accept payment by cash, check, or credit cards before or at the time of service.
You can also pay using Paypal by clicking on the link below.
I accept the following plans:
- Cigna Behavioral Health
- Managed Health Network (MHN)
- San Francisco Mental Health Plan
I’ll need to verify your coverage before our first session.
Out-of-network and claim submission:
If I am not in your health plan's network and your plan covers out-of-network mental health services (PPO), I can provide a monthly billing statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you prefer, I can also submit the claims for you to your health insurance so you wouldn’t have to do the cumbersome paperwork. However, as an out-of network provider, I wouldn’t be able to advocate on your behalf.
Please check with your carrier about your plan's coverage and reimbursement policies.
A disclaimer about the use of insurance:
I understand the desire to use your insurance to pay for therapy.
However, most insurance plans require a mental health diagnosis before they will pay for treatment; you should know that this diagnosis becomes part of your medical record and is kept in the insurance company's files.
Additionally, your insurance company has access to your records and will periodically perform audits (clinical reviews) while authorizing treatment. Ultimately, it is your insurance company that decides whether your therapy is necessary.
While dealing with health insurance, I preserve as much confidentiality as possible, and I release only information deemed necessary for authorizing services. I make it my responsibility to let you know what is shared with insurance companies.
However, I can't control what these companies do with your personal information or how using health insurance might impact you in the future. If you have any questions, you might want to call them directly.
I have a 48-hour cancelation policy.
If you are unable to keep an appointment without adequate notice, please expect to pay for the missed appointment as I have reserved the hour for you and will probably be unable to fill it with another client on such short notice.
If you normally pay using your insurance, keep in mind that insurance companies do not pay for missed sessions. Payment for any missed sessions at the company’s contracted rate (not the co-pay) becomes your responsibility.
If we’re able to reschedule you within the same week, I will not charge you for a missed session.
